Sony lifted the lid on the Sony XPERIA Z4 in Japan. We’ve also come across reports, saying that the Japanese firm is planning to unveil the Sony XPERIA Z4 Compact (the Z4’s little brother) and the Sony XPERIA Z4 Ultra (the phablet version of the Z4). Now the two have been listed in the Indonesian POSTEL database (see screenshot below), which was first spotted by Chinese-speaking Sogi.com.tw.
The listing does not mention “Sony XPERIA Z4 Compact” and “Sony XPERIA Z4 Ultra.” It only reveals model numbers. The “E5803” is believed to be the Z4 Compact, while the “E6833” is believed to be the Z4 Ultra? Why? The Z3 Compact carries the model number D58xx, while the Z Ultra carried the model number C68xx.
Sadly, the listing doesn’t mention specs. The XPERIA Z4 sports a a 5.2-inch Triluminos screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 32-64 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (support for as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery. It is clad in metal. It is IP6 certified for dust and IP5 and IP8 certified for water. This means it can be submerged in 4.92 feet for as long as 30 minutes. It measure 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm and weighs in at 144 g. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box. The Z4 unveiled in Japan is exclusive to the country, but reports say that an international version will make its debut in May.
As for the Z4 Compact and Z4 Ultra, we’re guessing the two will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood, but as for their screen sizes, this is yet to be determined.
