Thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology, smartphones get fully charge their batteries in no time. Since the newly unveiled Sony XPERIA Z3+ comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor under the hood, it supports the feature. Sony has also lifted the lid on its Quick Charge UCH10 charger for the new smartphone, which offers 5 hours of battery life after only 10 minutes of charging. A 45-minute charge will keep the lights on the entire day.
It’s strange, however, that the UCH10 is only compatible with the single SIM variant of the XPERIA Z3+ and not the dual SIM version. This puzzles us since the only difference between the two is the extra SIM card slot.
Aside from the XPERIA Z3+, the UCH10 is also compatible with the XPERIA Z3 Compact.
It is yet to be determined if the Quick Charge UCH10 will ship with the XPERIA Z3+ or if it will be sold separately.
To recap, the Sony XPERIA Z3+ sports a 5.2-inch Triluminos screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 32 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (support for as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a 2,930 mAh battery. It has an IP 65/68 rating for dust and waterproofing. IP68 means that the phone can be submerged in water as deep as 3 meters (9.8 feet) without getting damaged. It measures 146.3 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm and weighs in at 144 g. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
