According to a tweet, Sony is cooking up a new upper mid-range smartphone code named “Lavender” and model number “E5503.” It is said to sport a 1080p screen and a MediaTek MT6752 processor.
The tweet comes from renowned leakster @upleaks. According to the leakster the Lavender will sport a screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, but, sadly, its screen size was not mentioned. Its CPU will be the MediaTek MT6752, which is a 64-bit octa-core processor with eight ARM Cortex-53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz, a Mali-T760 GPU, and an LTE radio.
The tweet did not mention the version of Android the Lavender will be running, but we’re more than certain that, since Sony is currently updating its Z series lineup to Android 5.0 (Lollipop), the Lavender will run the latest version of Android as well.
It is yet to be determined if the Lavender will be available globally or if it will be limited to markets in Asia.
Of course, since we can’t confirm is Sony is really working on the Lavender, take this with a pinch of salt.
