Rumour has it that Sony is cooking up the XPERIA Z5 Plus, it’s upcoming high-end phablet. Now, alleged press renders of the device have been spotted on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter.
The image seen above shows the “Sony Xperia 70+” (a code name), which is rumoured to be the XPERIA Z5 Plus. Other code names include “XPERIA 60” and “XPERIA 70,” which are believed to be the XPERIA Z5 Compact and the XPERIA Z5 respectively.
According to previous reports, the XPERIA Z5 Plus could have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU under the hood. Sadly this is the same processor that has caused overheating issues with the currently available Sony XPERIA Z3 Plus (XPERIA Z4 in Japan). Other rumoured specs include a screen of unknown size with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Sadly, this all we have gathered about the Sony XPERIA Z5 Plus, but we’re sure to get more info on the device in the weeks to come.
So when do we get to see the XPERIA Z5, the XPERIA Z5 Compact, and the XPERIA Z5 Plus? Sony could lift the lid on its new XPERIA Z5 lineup at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany in September.
