STJSGadgets has spotted schematics of the yet to be announced XPERIA P2 on a Chinese website. The smartphone is said to be the other flagship by Sony to be launched to the rest of the world, as the XPERIA Z4 is s Japanese-exclusive.
The schematics seen above shows a device that does not look anything like the XPERIA Z4. Specs have also been revealed. According to the site, the XPERIA P2 sports a 5.2-inch Triluminos IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 32 GB of internal storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a 4,240 mAh battery.
For comparison, The XPERIA Z4 sports a 5.2-inch Triluminos screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 32-64 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (support for as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery. It is clad in metal. It is IP6 certified for dust and IP5 and IP8 certified for water.This means it can be submerged in 4.92 feet for as long as 30 minutes. It measure 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm and weighs in at 144 g. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
Apart from the design, the P2 differs from the Z4 in the camera and battery department. The Z4 sports a more powerful camera, while the P2 comes with a much beefier battery.
Of course, since Sony is yet to officially announce the XPERIA P2, take this with a pinch of salt.
