Samsung Galaxy S7 front panel and front-facing camera allegedly pictured

We’ve been coming across a number of leaks involving the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7, as the Korean tech giant’s next flagship is expected to make its official debut soon. In the latest leak, the device’s alleged front panel and front-facing camera have been pictured.

Front panel and front-facing camera?

The photos above were leaked by GSMArena. Starting with the photo of the alleged Samsung Galaxy S7 front panel, the Samsung logo has been covered, the home button appears to be crooked, and the bezels look to be too big. According to the leak, the bezels have been deliberately blown up to disguise the design of the device.

The other photo claims to show the front-facing camera modules of the Samsung Galaxy S7. What makes this photo interesting is the number stamped on top. It shows “SM-G930F,” which is believed to be one of the model numbers of the said device. Going back to the camera modules, they do appear to be different from the front-facing camera modules of the Samsung Galaxy S6. The connector of the front camera module of the Galaxy S6 is found on the center of the component, while the connector of the Galaxy S7’s front camera module is found on the left of the component. So what does this mean? We’re guessing it performs the same way as the front camera module of the Galaxy S6. It is likely that the connector was moved to the left to accommodate the other components of the slim device. Of course, this is all just speculation at this point, so don’t take our word for it. Additionally, we can’t verify if the components really belong to the Samsung Galaxy S7, so take this leak with a pinch of salt.

So when do we get to weed out the rumours from fact? Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on the 21st of February in Barcelona, Spain at its Unpacked 2016 event. We’ll know by then if these components are legit or not.
