Earlier, we showed you photos of what is claimed to be a prototype unit of the Samsung Galaxy S6, which were leaked on the XDA Developers forums. Now photos (1 & 2) of the actual S6 and the S6 Edge have been leaked by one of the forum’s members.
So what do these photos reveal? A relief for one thing! Case maker Spigen previously released renders of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, which seemed to sport only one edge screen. Previous reports claimed that the device would sport dual edge screens, and these leaked photos seem to confirm this.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge must be the worst kept secret on the web. We’ve learned that the smartphones’ specs include a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, 32 GB of internal storage, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor under the hood, 3 GB of RAM, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box. As for its UI, it is said to be the first device to have a 64-bit version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Samsung’s new flagship is said to sport an aluminium chassis with glass covering the front and back of the device. It is said to be extremely slim at only 6.9 mm.
So when do we get to see the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge? We’ll get to see the two on Sunday at MWC 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.
