We’ve been hearing a lot lately about Samsung’s new Galaxy E-series, and now the specs of the SM-E500F (E5) and SM-E700F (E7) have been leaked by SamMobile. The leak reveals that the specs of the yet to be announced smartphone are similar to the specs of the already announced Galaxy A5 and the yet to be announced Galaxy A7 (specs also leaked by SamMobile).
According to the reliable Samsung insider, the Galaxy E7 will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 2950 mAh battery. Dimensions are 151×77×7.2 mm. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
As for the E5, it sports a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2300 mAh battery. Everything else is similar to the specs of the E7. It will also be thinner than the E7 at 6.9 mm and weigh in at 140 g.
The site’s “insider” claims that the E5 and E7 will sport non-removable batteries. However, it is yet to be determined if the two will sport metal unibodies just like devices from Samsung’s A-series. Furthermore, we still don’t know when the Korean tech giant is planning to launch the two, but SamMobile reckons that the two will make an appearance “a couple of months into 2015.”
