According to previous reports, Samsung is cooking up a phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge called the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now, new photos show an alleged S6 Edge Plus prototype under the regular S6 Edge.
The photos above come to us courtesy of French-speaking NWE. If the photos show the real deal, they show that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus sports a much bigger screen than the regular Galaxy S6 Edge.
We’ve learned from previous leaks and renders that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will look exactly like the Galaxy S6 Edge, apart from the different position of the microphone hole, the larger body, and the omission of the infrared blaster.
As for specs, we’ve learned from past rumours that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 32 GB of internal storage, no microSD card slot, a Samsung Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor with a Mali-T760 GPU from ARM under the hood, 3 GB of RAM, and a massive 3,700 mAh battery to keep the lights on.
So when should we see the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus make its official debut? According to reports, Samsung will unveil the S6 Edge Plus in the 12th of August alongside the Galaxy Note 5, and release the two either on the 14th or the 21st of August (likely the later).
