Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will not be available in Europe. Instead, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be available in Europe, which essentially just a bigger version of the already available Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, if a petition gets its way, we may see the phablet in the UK.
Appeal to bring Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to Europe
The petition was created by British retailer Clove. If you are from Europe and would prefer that Samsung launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in the continent, you can sign the petition by hitting the link provided above. The petition is hosted on Google Forms, so it should be safe for everyone to sign with full names and email addresses.
Of course, whether or not a lot of Note fans sign the petition, there’s no guarantee Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 in Europe.
What we get and what we don’t get
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may look different, but everything under the exterior is essentially the same. Both devices come with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (pixel density of 518 ppi), a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS and F1.9 aperture, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with F1.9 aperture, 32 GB to 64 GB of internal storage, no microSD card slot, a fingerprint reader integrated into the home button, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor under the hood, 4 GB of RAM, and a non-removable fast-charging 3,000 mAh battery. Like the S6 and S6 Edge, the two will support Samsung Pay, Samsung’s mobile payment service. They run Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI slapped on top.
Apart from the difference in dimensions, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus comes with a curved screen just like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, which means it comes with features present on the S6 Edge. However, it does not come with the S Pen stylus of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Since the S6 Edge Plus does not come with an S Pen, it will not come with apps designed to function with the stylus. The S Pen is one of the features, if not the feature, that makes the device so popular.
