South Koreans were the first to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Sadly, their excitement turned into disappointment when they discovered a gap in between the screen and the chassis, which was thick enough to fit a business card. According to the Korean tech giant, this gap is “necessary.”
Samsung made this revelation in its online manual for the European variant of the Galaxy Note 4. On page 180 of the manual it says that the gap is a “necessary manufacturing feature.” It adds that friction between parts can cause the gap to widen “over time.” This means that the gap was not caused by a manufacturing issue.
Speaking to AndroidCentral, a Samsung spokesperson said:
The reported issue does not impact the functionality or quality of the Galaxy Note 4. We assure our customers that all Galaxy Note 4 units meet our strict manufacturing and quality control standards.
