We’ve learned that Samsung is cooking up the successor of the Galaxy Tab S – the Galaxy Tab S2. Now a tweet has leaked what it claims to be an official render of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7.
The image you see above comes to us courtesy of leak master @OnLeaks, a Twitter account that has proven to leak accurate information on yet to be announced devices in the past. It allegedly shows the 9.7-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S2. The tablet is also said to be available in a smaller 8-inch version.
According to past reports, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will sport a 9.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, aspect ratio of 4:3, 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 64-bit octa-core processor under the hood. Both 9.7-inch and 8-inch versions will be available in Wi-Fi only and W-Fi/4G LTE variants. They will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
As for the tablet’s measurements, the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is said to measure 237.17 mm x 169.58 mm x 5.5 – 5.9 mm. This would make the tablet much thinner than the Apple iPad Air 2, which is 6.1 mm-thick.
Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the premium Galaxy Tab S2 next month.
