On Nokia Conversations, Microsoft shows a countdown timer to an event that will kick off in (at the time of writing) 11 hours. At the event, the Redmond firm is expected to lift he lid on the Nokia X2. Above it is the tag line “Sometimes we have to go back, to move forward.” What does this mean?
DailyMobile has come up with an interesting theory. According to the site, “This makes me think that Nokia will give either the officially dead Symbian or the officially dead MeeGo operating system one more shot at life. If I were a betting man, I’d say that Nokia is not happy placing all their money, time and effort into the MeeGo OS and only releasing the N9 running it, so I’d bet the X2 will be a MeeGo device.”
It notes, “Do I have any proof of this? Nope. Could this be me just reading into this too much and wishing Nokia would release one last MeeGo device? Maybe. It’s possible that this is just about changing some things in the first X series. But lets face it, there is a market out there for one last hurrah for a MeeGo device and I am not alone in this.”
Do you believe the Nokia X2 will run MeeGo? If it does run the discontinued operating system, would you be interested in getting your hands on one? Let us know through a comment on our Phones LTD Facebook page.
