The Huawei Nexus 6P will only bend under a lot of pressure

In a previous report, we showed you a video made by YouTube channel JerryRigEverything that shows the Huawei Nexus 6P bend with little effort. This made us think that the new Nexus phablet was much easier to bend compared to the Apple iPhone 6 Plus (Bendgate fiasco). It seems, however, that the torture test was nothing but a way for the tester to get attention from viewers.

Does not bend under pressure

PhoneArena points out that the scratch test conducted by YouTube channel JerryRigEverything on the Huawei Nexus 6P is “reasonable.” This means that you should never put the phablet in your pocket with keys, as anything sharp and jagged can easily scratch the screen’s surface. However, the bend test is flawed. Why? It was done after the scratch test was done. With the already cracked and burned screen, the structural integrity of the device has been compromised. Note that a smartphone’s glass screen provides added structural integrity, which means that if you take away the screen the device will bend easier than normal. If the test was done on a device that didn’t have a cracked screen, the results would have been different.

Here’s a video that proves that point:

To recap, the Huawei Nexus 6P rocks a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). This works out to a pixel density of 518 ppi. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Its camera combo consists of a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Storage options include 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB versions. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. A fingerprint sensor can be found on the back of the device, which is said to read fingerprints faster other fingerprint scanners found on other devices. A Micro USB Type-C connector is on board. It comes with front-facing stereo speakers. To keep the lights on, it offers a 3,450 mAh battery. It is 7.3 mm-thick and weighs in at 178 g. It runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. Since the device is clad in aluminium, it offers a premium look and feel.
