The All New HTC One, HTC M8, HTC One (2014), HTC One (M8), or whatever the Taiwanese phone maker ends up calling its upcoming flagship has proven to be one of the worst kept secrets in the smartphone arena this year. Press renders have been leaked on Twitter, videos showing the device were posted on YouTube, the device’s brochure and sell sheet was leaked, and photos leaking the device are all over the internet (one even shows a man using the device snapping photos of a tennis match). Now, the device with Verizon branding and packaging has popped up on eBay and has been sold for $499.99 (around £300), despite not yet being officially unveiled and released by HTC. The Verizon-branded All New HTC One sold on eBay is a silver 32GB 4G LTE version.
There’s another thing we should point out. The packaging reveals that HTC’s next flagship will be called “HTC One” just like its predecessor. “The All New” has been dropped from the label.
Aside from the name, the packaging doesn’t reveal anything else about the HTC One (2014). However, we already know what to expect from the smartphone thanks to countless leaks on the internet. According to the leaks, the device will sport a 5-inch 1080p screen, a rear-facing Duo Camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, BoomSound, dual LED flash, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and an aluminium body. It will run Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Sense 6.0 slapped on top.
HTC will be lifting the lid on the HTC One (2014) in simultaneous events in London and New York City, with reports saying the release date of the device will be in early April.
