So what do we know about the unannounced HTC One A9? Initially, it was thought that the upcoming “Hero” phone HTC CEO Cher Wang promised investors after posting dismal earnings back in June was a high-end device. One report claimed that the smartphone would rock a MediaTek MT6797 deca-core (10 cores) processor. Following reports, however, revealed that the One A9 would be a mid-range device rather than a high-end one.
Recent reports, if true, have revealed that the HTC One A9 would sport a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). This works out to a pixel density of 441 ppi. In the photography department, the device is believed to feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS and a 4-megapixel Ultrapixel camera for snapping selfies and video chat. The smartphone is said to come with 16 GB of on board storage. If this is not enough, users can always slap in a microSD card. Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor with an Adreno 405 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Previous leaked photos show that the device will sport a home button with a fingerprint scanner on board. To keep the lights on, the device is said to come with a 2,150 mAh battery. It is said to be 7 mm-thick. HTC has teased that its upcoming device will be one of the first devices to ship running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). The unannounced smartphone is said to be clad in metal and will be available in six colour options.
