Although HTC is yet to announce when it plans to push out the Marshmallow update for the HTC One (M8), it has promised to roll out updates to the newly launched HTC One A9 15 days after Nexus devices are updated. This said, it’s possible that the Taiwanese phone maker is planning to do the same for other smartphones.
To recap, the HTC One (M8) was the Taiwanese phone maker’s flagship back in 2014. The smartphone features a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). This works out to a pixel density of 441 ppi. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with each core clocked at 2.3 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. On board is 16 GB to 32 GB of internal storage. It also comes with a microSD card slot for additional storage options. Its camera combo consists of the infamous 4-megapixel UltraPixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. Keeping the lights on is a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery. It measures 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm. It is clad in aluminium that offers a more premium look and feel. The HTC One (M8) runs Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box with Sense 6.0 slapped on top.
