According to Twitter account @upleaks, HTC’s selfie-centric smartphone will be called the “Desire Eye.”
Here’s the tweet:
Speaking about specs, @upleaks tweets:
This translates to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz quad-core processor, a 5.2-inch FHD screen, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing selfie-optimised camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 2400mAh removable battery, and Sense 6. The tweet also mentions “IPX7,” which means the HTC Desire Eye can be submerged in a meter of water for as much as 30 minutes.
Note that the Desire Eye is an entirely different device from the One (M8) Eye, which is a version of the One (M8) that sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing Duo camera.
HTC will be hosting a press event on the 8th of October. We’re expecting the Taiwanese phone maker to lift the lid on the two devices at the event.
