We know about Google’s Android Silver initiative, which is a project that involves the search giant, device manufacturers, and network operators. The goal is to make high-end devices to be sold by carriers. Master leaker @evleaks may have stumbled upon one of these devices.
On his website, @evleaks said, “HTC Volantis macro shot: silver aluminum unibody (earlier renders/concepts were “fake”), 64-bit Tegra K1 (testing w SD810), 5GB DDR3 (non-final), 8.9″ 1680×1050 (should ship with 2560×1600), 64GB, 5MP/1080p (8MP at retail?), Boomsound.”
This translates to the HTC Volantis tablet sporting an 8.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, BoomSound speakers, a 64-bit Tegra K1 processor by NVIDIA, and 5GB of RAM.
If these specs are accurate, then the rumoured HTC-made tablet is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to performance.
Unfortunately, it is yet to be determined when the Taiwanese phone maker plans to lift the lid on this device.
