HTC has rolled out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update to the HTC One in the UK and has promised to roll out the update to the HTC One Mini and HTC One Max as well. However, if you take a look at HTC UK’s “Software Updates” page, it still says that the KitKat update for the two devices is still under “integration,” with no information on when it will be available. If US network operator Sprint’s announcement is anything to go by, we might see the update roll out to the HTC One Max in the UK soon.
Sprint is currently rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (software version 2.09.651.1) update to the HTC One Max. The device’s Sense 5.0 UI has also been update to Sense 5.5. The changes include multitasking and loading enhancements, security patches, new Bluetooth profiles, and Cloud Print (a service that allows users to connect their device to compatible printers).
The update is a sizeable 344MB. So when it hits the UK, be prepared. Make sure you are connected via Wi-Fi to avoid extra data charges. Additionally, make sure you have at least 75% battery life.
Since Sprint is now updating units of the HTC One Max tied down to it, we’re hoping the update rolls out to the One Max in the UK as well.
We’ll let you know once the update goes live.
