According to reports from China, which were spotted by Technodify, the Taiwanese phone maker is gearing up to launch the HTC One E9 in August.
The HTC One E9 doesn’t sport a Quad HD screen (1440 x 2560 pixels) like the HTC One E9+ nor does it come with a Full HD screen (1080 x 1920 pixels) like the HTC One M9. It sports a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD).
Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 4-megapixel Ultrapixel front-facing camera (just like the rear-facing cameras of the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One (M8)), 16 GB of internal storage, an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.
Judging from these specs, the HTC One E9 is likely to be a mid-range smartphone. Its more premium counterpart, the HTC One E9+ with its 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, 13-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, and 3 GB of RAM is meant for the high-end market.
Although the device is rumoured to be gearing up for an August launch in China, pricing is yet to be determined. It is also yet to be determined if the HTC One E9 will be available in international markets.
