Recently, serial leakster Even Blass leaked renders of the device that also revealed the HTC One A9’s colour options. Now, thanks to a post on Chinese-speaking Weibo (the equivalent of Twitter in China), a live photo of the device has been leaked (see above).
In a past tweet, Blass revealed that the HTC One A9 is more a higher mid-range device rather than a high-end one. The leaked live photo of the smartphone seems to confirm Blass’ claim. The photo reveals that the device will rock a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor under the hood, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. That particular CPU is an octa-core processor with an Adreno 405 GPU to handle graphics. The image also confirms that the screen will measure 5 inches and will have a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). This works out to a pixel density of 441 ppi. Lastly, the photo reveals that the device will come with 16 GB of internal storage.
Other rumoured specs include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is probably a sensor made by Sony and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front-facing camera, which is currently being used as a rear-facing camera of the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One (M8). The HTC One M9 makes also makes use of the sensor as its front-facing camera. A fingerprint scanner is said to be on board the home button. To keep the lights on, a 2,150 mAh battery is said to be on board.
Past reports have revealed that the HTC One A9 will make its official debut on the 29th of September, but, according to Blass, the smartphone will not make an appearance at the event. Instead, Blass claims the HTC will be hosting simultaneous major events in various cities in the US, where the device will be heavily marketed.
Not interested in a mid-range HTC-made device? If so, you may want to wait until 2016. According to reports, HTC will unveil the rumoured HTC O2 next year. The device is said to sport a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), the upcoming high-end Snapdragon 820 CPU made by Qualcomm, 4 GB of RAM, and come with IP certification. It is said that the HTC O2 will be re-designed from the ground up.
Since this is anything but official, take it with a grain of salt.
