According to an analyst, Apple will not launch an iPhone 6 with a sapphire screen this year. Instead, the Cupertino firm will launch a variant of its next iPhone with the almost unbreakable display next year.
This is according to J.P. Morgan analyst Rod Hall in a note to investors, which as obtained by AppleInsider.
Hall writes, “Although we have channel indications that some sapphire devices will be produced, we actually lean toward Apple selling no sapphire phones this year.”
Although Hall believes that the iPhone 6 with a sapphire screen will only be available next year, he says that it will be a hit among consumers. He writes, “On sapphire as a feature — we see it as a huge phone seller. The screens are reportedly unscratchable (except by diamond) and virtually indestructible. We believe most people will want sapphire when and if it ever becomes available.”
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
