A report from Chinese-speaking Commercial Times is claiming that the rumoured 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablet (dubbed the iPhone Air) may not be unveiled this year. It may be launched in 2015 or even later.
According to the report, Apple is having issues making the device slim, with suppliers unable to meet Apple’s demands. Smartphone batteries usually measure 2.8-2.9mm in thickness, but Apple is requiring suppliers to supply batteries measuring 2mm at the most.
With suppliers unable to meet Apple’s demands, the launch of the iPhone Air may be pushed back to 2015 or whenever suppliers will be able to meet these requirements.
