LG’s flagship for this year is the LG G4, which rocks a camera that is superior compared to other sensors on board other flagships. Apart from this, however, it falls short when it comes to other specs. With 2015 coming to an end, LG is yet to unveil a device that sports hardware that blows the competition away. So does this mean that the South Korean smartphone maker has given up in the specs race? According to reports, LG is cooking up a high-end device that offers hardware worth writing about – the rumoured LG G4 Pro. Now, a device that is believed to be the G4 Pro has passed through the GFXBench benchmark database.
LG G4 Pro leaked on GFXBench
Before we go any further, please take this information with a pinch of salt, since benchmark results can be faked. Although we can’t confirm if the device leaked on GFXBench is the LG G4 Pro, it would be unwise to take a look at the details revealed, since the device is expected to pack quite a punch.
Moving on the benchmark result, the device that is believed to be the LG G4 Pro carries the model number “H900.” It sports a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which is bigger than the 5.5-inch screen found on board the LG G4. Under the hood is still the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with cores clocked at as much as 1.8 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU, which is the same CPU on board the LG G4. It seems that LG wants to avoid the overheating issues of the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. We were hoping that the LG G4 Pro would rock the Snapdragon 820, but this SoC ins’t expected to be available until the first quarter of next year. The RAM, however, has been bumped up from 3 GB with the LG G4 to 4 GB.
The LG G4 Pro sports a slightly weaker rear-facing camera, with a megapixel count of 15. The LG G4 sports a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. This camera, however, should be able to record videos in 4K, and we’re expecting it to perform just as good as the G4’s impressive camera. The front-facing camera has also dropped to 5 megapixels from the 8-megapixel front-facing camera on board the LG G4.
The question is, is the H900 the rumoured LG G4 Pro? Unfortunately, there’s no way for us to confirm this, but we’re guessing we’re about to find out soon.
