Earlier, we came across leaked renders of the yet to be announced Huawei Nexus 6P phablet, which revealed that the device will be available in 4 colour options. Now, renders of the second Nexus device to be unveiled this year (the LG Nexus 5X smartphone) also reveal the device’s colour options.
The renders of the LG Nexus 5X seen above were leaked by AndroidPolice, which is the same site that leaked the renders showing the Huawei Nexus 6P. It also the site that has been actively leaking information on the two upcoming Nexus devices.
Back to the renders, one of them show the device in white, black, and a mint blue-green colour option, which was by an Amazon listing to be called “Ice Blue.” That particular colour options was also leaked in live photos of the handset.
As far as we’ve learned, the LG Nexus 5X is rumoured to sort a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). Under the hood is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808, which is a 64-bit hexa-core (six cores) processor (maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz) with an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. This is the same CPU on board the LG G4, LG’s current flagship. In terms of storage space, the smartphone is expected to be available in 16 GB and 32 GB versions. Its camera combo is said to consist of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. The smartphone is also expected to sport the new USB Type-C port, which is reversible meaning users never have to worry about plugging in the microUSB the wrong way. To keep the lights on, the smartphone is expected to feature a 2,700 mAh battery. Lastly, the Nexus 5X is expected to sport a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the device. Like every new Nexus device, the smartphone is expected to run the latest version of Android. In this case, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
So when do we get to see the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P make their official debut? Google has announced that it will be hosting a press event on the 29th of September. Although the search giant hasn’t confirmed what to expect at the event, we’re expecting it to lift the lid on the two new Nexus device on the said date. According to previous reports, the two will be available for pre-order starting on the 13th of October.
