Blackberry Venice slider live photos leaked

BlackBerry was once one of the most dominant forces in the mobile phone industry, but now it has been reduced to a relic, thanks to the likes of Samsung and Apple. This, however, doesn’t mean that the Canadian phone maker doesn’t have what it takes to wow us once again with smartphones that intrigue fans regardless of what faction they may belong to. This is especially true with the rumoured BlackBerry Venice, a slider that is said to run Google’s Android out of the box. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been coming across a number of leaks involving the said device. Now, new leaked live photos show us what the device will ultimately look like.

The live photos of the BlackBerry Venice were leaked by Vietnamese-speaking Techrum. The new photos show the device in various angles. They also reveal that the SIM card slot and the microSD card slot will be located atop the device. Normally, smartphones’ SIM card slots and microSD card slots are located on their sides or inside the device next to the battery. Normally, photos that leak unannounced devices tend to be rather blurry. These photos are not, giving us a better look at the smartphone.

We’ve learned from previous reports that the BlackBerry Venice slider will run Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with BlackBerry 10 OS slapped on top working as a UI. Past reports have also claimed that there will be two variants of the device. One will run Android, while the other is said to run BlackBerry 10 OS.

As far as specs go, past reports have revealed that the high-end slider will sport a 5.4-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Its screen is said to be curved on the edges, just like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. In the camera department, the BlackBerry Venice is said to come with an 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that will make it perfect for snapping selfies. A hexa-core (six cores) Snapdragon 808 CPU with an Adreno 418 GPU for graphics made by Qualcomm, coupled with 3 GB of RAM, is said to be under the hood.

So when will we get to see the BlackBerry Venice slider? Serial leakster Evan Blass (aka @evleaks on Twitter) claims that the high-end smartphone will be offered by all four major network operators in the US in November. It is yet to be determined if the device will be available in the UK, but we’re betting that it will.
