Sony is yet to lift the lid on its next flagship of the year, the Sony XPERIA Z3. Now we’re hearing US network operator T-Mobile is getting ready to launch the smartphone, according to a report by TechnoBuffalo.
According to the site’s “trusted source,” the US carrier is “gearing up to launch the Xperia Z3 when it makes its debut.”
Why does this make sense? According to the site, “First, T-Mobile has been a launch partner for several past Xperia devices, as has AT&T, including the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z1s. Second, the carrier has been offering plenty of the latest flagships recently, including all of the major players, so it makes sense that it would pick up the latest from Sony as well. Finally, this is a source we trust with 100 percent confidence, so we’re willing to place our bets.”
According to reports, the Sony XPERIA Z3 will sport a redesigned curved body unlike the rather edgy design of the Z2. As far as hardware is concerned, it isn’t much of an upgrade compared to its predecessor. It is said to sport a slightly more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20.7-megapixel camera.
Sony is expected to lift the lid on the Z3 at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany next month.
