According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Korean tech giant’s next flagship will be available in two versions – one ordinary version and one dual-edged version. A new report is saying that Sony is planning to take a page out of Samsung book and also release two variants of its upcoming flagship – the Sony XPERIA Z4. One variant is said to sport a 1440p screen (Quad HD), while the other is said to sport a 1080p screen (Full HD).
The news comes to us courtesy of Chinese-speaking site ePrice. According to its source, the Quad HD version of the Sony XPERIA Z4 will be landing in the US, while the Full HD version will be available in “certain markets.” If this information holds water, we’re hoping the UK gets the Quad HD version as well.
Aside from the 1440p and 1080p variants, the source also says that the XPERIA Z4 will come with improved waterproofing, with open ports no longer needing plastic flaps for protection from liquids. This also means a seamless and fluid design.
Furthermore, the source says that the front-facing camera has been improved, and that the smartphones metal frame will have a glossy finish.
Of course, since this is a rumour, take it with a pinch of salt.
Sony is expected to lift the lid on the XPERIA Z4 soon, so we won’t have to wait very long to find out if the rumours are true or not.
