XperiaBlog was first to notice that Sony has begun rolling out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Sony XPERIA Z2. The update is rolling out first to countries in Northern Europe (Nordics and Baltic regions).
The screenshot seen above shows that the update is rolling out the Android 5.0.2 firmware update for the XPERIA Z2 with model number D6503. The firmware build is 23.1.A.0.690, which is the same build that rolled out to the XPERIA Z3 and XPERIA Z3 Compact recently.
To recap, the XPERIA Z2 sports a 5.2-inch Triluminos screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera that can record videos at 1080p, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with each core clocked at 2.3 GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable Li-Ion 3,200 mAh battery.
At the time of writing, the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the XPERIA Z2 in the UK is yet to roll out, but we’re guessing it will go live sooner than later.
