Earlier this week, Sony lifted the lid on the XPERIA M5 and the XPERIA C5 Ultra – two new mid-range smartphones. Despite making their official debut, the Japanese smartphone maker failed to mention pricing or launch date, until now. Well, for the C5 Ultra at least.
According to Sony Hong Kong, the XPERIA C5 Ultra will be available in Hong Kong on the 14th of August. It will cost the equivalent of £274 for the dual SIM version. It is possible that it will be prices similarly in other markets.
To recap, the Sony XPERIA C5 Ultra sports a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (FHD), a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, a 13-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera also with LED flash, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a MediaTek MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor with each core clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and a 2,930 mAh battery. Sadly, unlike a lot of Sony’s smartphones, this one is not water-resistant.
If you’re interested in the Sony XPERIA C5 Ultra, we’ve got potentially bad news for you. According to the Japanese company, the smartphone will be available in select “emerging markets.” This means that it less likely to be available in the UK.
