Unannounced Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 renders and specs leaked by TENAA – could be the world’s thinnest tablet

TENAA is the Chinese equivalent of the US FCC and a source of accurate information on yet to be announced devices. In this case, the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 tablet.

The high-end Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is said to be the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.0. The successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is said to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. Renders of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 have already been leaked in the past. The model number of the Tab S2 8.0 is SM-T715, while the model number of the Tab S2 9.7 is SM-T815.

Aside from the renders seen above, TENAA has also revealed the Tab S2 8.0’s specs. It sports an 8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It measures 198.2 x 134.5 x 5.4 mm and weighs in at 260 g. At only 5.4 mm, the Tab S2 8.0 could be the world’s thinnest tablet this 2015.

Other Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 specs include an octa-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz (likely Samsung’s Exynos 7420 CPU), 3 GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, at least 16 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.

Since the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 has been approved by TENAA, this is an indication that the South Korean tech giant will lift the lid on the tablet soon, well in China at least.
