This 2015, Samsung will decrease the number of smartphones and focus more on mid-range handsets rather than dilute its brand. Two handsets out of its mid-range lineup, rumoured to be called the E-series, have surfaced. One is the Galaxy E5 (SM-E500), and the other is the Galaxy E7 (SM-E700).
The SM-E500 will sport a 5-inch 720p screen and a 1.2 GHz processor.
The SM-E700 will sport a 5.5-inch screen and a 1.5 GHz processor.
These specs suggest a more mid-range design rather than high-end. But the real question is, what will devices look like? Will they take the form of Samsung’s Galaxy A-series, consisting of metal-clad devices such as the Galaxy A7. Will they have the same form factor of the said device, but be clad in plastic instead? Unfortunately, we can’t confirm these at this point. We’ll just have to wait and see.
