Last year, Samsung introduced its new Galaxy A series, a smartphone lineup that sport metal chassis, which was a first for the South Korean tech giant. Previous smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S5, were clad in plastic. The only problem was, the Galaxy A series, consisting of the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 all run an outdated version of Android – Android 4.4 (KitKat). According to insiders, Samsung is currently working on the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) for the said A series.
The news comes to us courtesy of renowned Samsung leakster SamMobile. It reports, “Our insiders have revealed to us today that Samsung has started working on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy A series. We have also been told that Samsung has not yet begun developing Android 5.1 for any compatible device.”
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt. However, given SamMobile’s reputation for leaking accurate information, we won’t be surprised if the Lollipop update for the A3, A5, and A7 roll out sooner than later.
