Samsung rolls out Lollipop update for Galaxy S4 in Russia

In a recent report, we told you that Samsung has rolled out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Galaxy Note 3 in Russia, before rolling out the latest version of Android to the Note 4 in the country. Now, a new report has noticed that the Korean tech giant is  now rolling out the update to the Galaxy S4 in Russia.


The news comes to us courtesy of SamMobile, the source of accurate information when it comes to unannounced Samsung-made devices. According to the site, Samsung has started to roll out the Android 5.0.1 update to the Samsung Galaxy S5 (GT-I9500) in Russia. The GT-I9500 is the version that sports Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa 5410 octa-core processor. The S4 in the UK is the GT-I9505, the variant that sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. The Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 in Russia is a rather huge file at 1,049 MB.

So when will the Samsung Galaxy S4 in the UK get Lollipop treatment? Although the Korean tech giant has confirmed that its 2013 flagship will get the latest version of Android, it is yet to roll out the update in the UK.
