Samsung is reportedly working on a 10-inch Galaxy Tab 5 tablet (Galaxy Tab S 10.5 shown below) and a new entry-level slate.
The discovery was made by Dutch-speaking TechTastic. It spotted the 10-inch Galaxy Tab 5 (SM-T555) on Zauba, India’s import/export database and a great source of information on yet to be announced devices. The device entered India on the 22nd of December for research and development purposes. It could be released in either May or June of next year. The following day, Samsung imported 30 units of the SM-T116 into India, which are to be destroyed after testing. The entry-level device sports a 7-inch screen.
The entry-level SM-T116 also made an appearance on GeekBench. According to the benchmark site, the device sports a Speadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor with each core clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. Furthermore, it runs Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box.
Note that the two tablets are yet to be officially announced by Samsung. Stay tuned here at Phones LTD for further updates.
