We’ve been hearing a lot about the new additions to the Galaxy A series, including the Galaxy A3 (SM-A300), Galaxy A5 (SM-A500, and Galaxy A7 (SM-A700). The first smartphone to belong to this series is the Galaxy Alpha (picture below). According to a report, the three yet to be announced smartphones will be launched next month.
The news comes to us courtesy of KoreaITTimes. It reports, “Samsung Electronics plans to release a low-priced smartphone lineup, aimed at coping with the challenge posed by Xiaomi which is riding high on the brisk demand in China.According to industry sources on October 28, Samsung will release low-priced smartphone lineup “Galaxy A Series”in China in early next month.
“The introduction of the Galaxy A Series, consisting of Galaxy A3, A5 and A7, is part of Samsung’s efforts to regain its share in the world’s largest smartphone market where it is competing fiercely with local smartphone brands including Xiaomi.”
It adds, “The retail prices of the Galaxy A Series are estimated to be around $350-$500.”
These prices translate to around £200 to £300.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
