Expecting the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its edged version the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to be clad in metal? If a report is to be believed, the Korean tech giant’s upcoming flagship will not be fully covered in metal. Instead, it is said to sport a metal chassis sandwiched between two slices of glass.
The news comes to us courtesy of Korean-speaking DDaily. According to the site, aside from sporting a metal chassis in between two glass panels, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will also sport a non-removable battery.
You may be disappointed the S6 will not be completely clad in metal, but a metal frame encased in glass will still make the smartphone look premium.
So why metal and glass? According to the report, Samsung wants to differentiate its Galaxy S-series from its Galaxy A-series, which are completely clad in aluminium.
Sadly, we can’t confirm if this information is accurate. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait very long to find out if the rumour is true, since Samsung is expected to lift the lid on its next flagship in early March at MWC 2015, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain.
