Will the rugged Samsung Galaxy S6 Active sport a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) just like the regular Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge? If a User Agent Profile is anything to go by, it will.
Hungarian-speaking Napidroid.hu first spotted the User Agent Profile (see below). It reveals that S6 Active will bear the model number “SM-G890A,” and that its screen’s resolution will be 1440 x 2560 pixels.
The Galaxy S6 Active is expected to be IP67-certified, which means it can survive being submerged in up to 3.28 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. Other than that, the rugged smartphone is expected to sport the same specs as the S6 and S6 Edge. These include a 5-inch screen with a pixel density of 577 ppi, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) , a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, 32/64/128 GB of internal storage, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, 3 GB of DDR4 RAM, LTE Cat.6 (300/50Mbps) connectivity, support for wireless charging, and a 3,500 mAh battery. The S6 Active’s measurements are yet to be determined, but from the leaked renders seen above, it is expected to be bulkier than the S6 and S6 Edge. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box with a 64-bit TouchWiz UI slapped on top.
Like the S5 Active, the S6 Active is not expected to be available anywhere else but the US.
The S6 Active is expected to be officially unveiled anytime this month.
