Samsung Galaxy S6 Active rumoured to sport microSD card slot but ‘less good’ camera

Reddit user named “garshol” claims to have met with a Samsung rep somewhere in Europe, and claims to have the inside scoop on the yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy S6 Active (S5 Active shown below), the tough as nails version of the regular S6. He (or she) claims that the S6 Active will sport a microSD card slot, but at a price. It is said to come with a “less good” camera and no heart rate scanner.

Here’s what the S6 Active has to offer, accoridng to garshol:

Similar to the S6.

  • No fingerprint reader and Pulse meter
  • Less good camera, may come with OIS
  • Closely similar spec to the S6
  • Buttons on the front
  • SD Card Reader

This means that the rest of the Galaxy S6 Active’s specs will include a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD) and a pixel density of 577 ppi, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, 3 GB of DDR4 RAM, LTE Cat.6 (300/50Mbps) connectivity, support for wireless charging, and a 2,550 mAh battery. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box with a 64-bit TouchWiz UI slapped on top.

It is yet to be determined when the S6 Active will be available in the UK.
