Mid-range Samsung Galaxy O7 specs leaked by benchmark once again

Last month, we came across reports that claimed Samsung was working on a new series consisting of two unannounced devices – the “Galaxy Grand On” and the “Galaxy Mega On.” Now, the “Galaxy O7,” which is likely to be the Galaxy Mega On, has passed through the GFXBench benchmark database, revealing the device’s mid-range specs.

The Samsung Galaxy O7 with model number “SM-G600x” is the unannounced device that passed through the AnTuTu benchmark site a month back. Now the device also passed through GFXBench, revealing pretty much what we’ve learned last month.

The listing reveals that the Samsung Galaxy O7 will sport a screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD). Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with an Adreno 306 GPU, coupled with 1 GB of RAM. When it comes to storage space, the device features 8 GB of internal storage. It doesn’t say if it will come with a microSD card slot, but we’re guessing it will. In the photography department, the device comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that is ideal for snapping selfies and video chat. As for screen size, GFXBench reveals a 5.8-inch and a 5-inch panel. This suggests that two versions of the device went through testing at some point. The smaller version is believed to be the Galaxy O5 (Galaxy Grand On).

If the benchmark result is accurate, this would dispel previous rumours that claimed the Galaxy O7 would sport a 5.5-inch screen. This makes more sense, as we were unsure where Samsung would position the device, as another device in the Korean tech giant’s roster already sports a 5.5-inch screen and almost identical specs – the Samsung Galaxy A7.

Now the question is, will Samsung launch a larger device meant for the mid-range market? Of course, since Samsung is yet to officially unveil the Galaxy O7, you should treat this just like any other rumour for now. We’re sure, however, to come across more information on the device, as this is the second benchmark that has listed the phablet for the masses.
