Samsung has begun to roll out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Samsung Galaxy S5. According to reports, the Lollipop update for other high-end devices such as the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will roll out soon. However, according to a new report, the Note 4 and Note Edge may skip Android 5.0 entirely and jump to Android 5.0.1 instead.
The news comes to us courtesy of SamMobile, a source of reliable information on anything Samsung. According to the site, “Following the Galaxy S5 LTE-A (SM-906S), Samsung is in the works to update two of its premier phablets to Android 5.0.1. These devices are the Galaxy Note 4 and its rounded screen sibling, the Note Edge. The Android 5.0.1 update on the Galaxy S5 LTE-A holds up quite well, which is perhaps why Samsung believes its time to roll out the update for other more popular devices that we’re talking about here. What this also means is that both these devices will ditch the Android 5.0 update, since we already have builds for the devices running on Android 5.0.1.”
Of course, since this has not been confirmed by the Korean tech giant, take it with a pinch of salt.
