Earlier, SamMobile leaked information on the Samsung Galaxy Mega On (model number SM-G600), One of the first smartphone to be a part of the new entry-level Galaxy O series. Now the smartphone’s specs have been leaked on the AnTuTu benchmark database.
Samsung Galaxy Mega On / Samsung Galaxy O7 specs on AnTuTu
The AnTuTu listing was posted on Chinese-speaking Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. The listing reveals pretty much what SamMobile had to reveal about the SM-G600, and adds that the Galaxy Mega On could be called the “Galaxy O7.”
Samsung is known for offering a widen range of smartphone models. We all know the Galaxy S series, which consists of the South Korean tech giant’s flagships. We also know about the Galaxy A series, which consists of metal-clad mid-range devices. Samsung also offers entry-level devices in its Galaxy J series. Going back to this new series, we initially thought that it would be called the “Galaxy O” series, but recent reports suggest that it may be called the “Galaxy On” series, which consists of entry-level devices as well.
Aside from the Galaxy Mega On / O7, SamMobile also says that there will be a second device to be added to the yet to be announced Galaxy On series. This is said to be Galaxy Grand On.
Going back to the AnTuTu listing, the benchmark result reveals that the Galaxy Mega On will sport a screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Sadly, the device’s screen size was not mentioned. Fortunately, SamMobile previously revealed that the device will sport a 5.5-inch screen. Other specs confirmed by the listing include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric snapper, 8 GB of internal storage (most likely to be expandable), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with an Adreno 306 GPU under the hood, and 1 GB of RAM. The listing also reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Mega On will run Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. This version of Android is currently the latest version available.
These specs are an indication that the Galaxy Mega On will be an entry-level device. In fact, they are similar to the specs of the Galaxy E7, which is included in Samsung’s Galaxy E series (another entry-level series). However, we’re guessing that the Mega On will be different compared to the E7, when it comes to the overall design.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
