China’s TENAA ( the Chinese equivalent of the US FCC) has been a source of countless leaks in the past. Now, it has leaked images and specs of the yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy J5 (SM-J5008).
China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) has certified the Galaxy J5, which is an indication that Samsung will soon lift the lid on the smartphone in the country.
According to the listing, the Galaxy J5 will sport a 5-inch 720p TFT screen, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 4G LTE support, an octa-core processor with each core clocked at 1.2 GHz, and 1.5 GB of RAM. It will run Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) out of the box. The smartphone measures 142 x 73 x 8.5 mm. It will be clad in plastic.
Again, since the Galaxy J5 has appeared on TENAA, it’s likely that the device will be unveiled by Samsung in China soon. It is yet to be determined, however, how much the smartphone will cost, but we’re guessing it will be affordable. It is also yet to be determined if the smartphone will be available in the UK.
