SamMobile has long been a reliable source of information when it comes to anything Samsung-related. Now the renowned Samsung insider has leaked new information on the Korean tech giant’s rumoured new entry-level line and a new smartphone to start the series. The smartphone is the SM-J100, said to be called the “Galaxy J1,” and the series will be called the Galaxy J-series.
According to SamMobile’s source, “who has never been incorrect,” the Galaxy J1 will sport a 4.3-inch TFT LCD screen with WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels), a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a Marcell PXA1908 64-bit quad-core processor with each core clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, and a 1,850 mAh battery. Dimensions are 129 × 68 × 8.9 mm and weighs in at 123 g. It runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box.
The source adds that the rumoured J-series will be similar to the Galaxy Y series, suggesting that devices under the said series will be “priced quite low yet offer specs better than what Samsung has offered in the past on low-end devices.”
Sadly, the source didn’t say when we should expect to see the J-series. We’re hoping, however, that it’ll be sooner than later.
