Earlier reports claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Alpha (previously known as the Samsung Galaxy F) would be unveiled at around the same time Apple lifts the lid on the iPhone 6. Then reports said that the smartphone would make its debut in mid-August. Now we have an actual date. According to Samsung insider SamMobile, the Alpha will be officially unveiled on the 4th of August.
Why in early August? According to the site, “The early August announcement makes sense – it will give Samsung a month or so to let the excitement around the Galaxy Alpha die down before taking the stage and unveiling the Galaxy Note 4 in September.”
Rumoured Samsung Galaxy Alpha specs include a 4.8-inch 720p screen, 32GB of internal storage, no microSD card support, a fingerprint scanner, and a metal chassis. It will not be as high-end as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and will be more like the Galaxy S5 Mini.
