Early in 2015, a trademark application revealed the Galaxy A8, an unannounced smartphone to be added to Samsung’s Galaxy A series. The new rumour comes to us courtesy of SamMobile‘s insiders. The insiders claim that the Galaxy A8 may sport a fingerprint scanner, just like that on the Galaxy S6, which means it could be a touch-based sensor.

Previous reports have revealed that the Galaxy A8 will sport a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16 GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 3,050 mAh battery. Like other smartphones in the Galaxy A series, the A8 is said to sport a meal frame. it is said to be a mere 5.9 mm-thick. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box. It is expected to enter the mid-range market.

Despite SamMobile’s reputation for being accurate when leaking information on yet to be announced devices by Samsung, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
