The mid-range Galaxy A-Series from Samsung has had it’s annual upgrade producing two of the best looking and most functional models of the range to date.
Meet the New A3 & A5 2017
Aptly named as usual, the Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 and A5 2017 are touted as affordable alternatives to the flagship S-Series phones offering waterproof credentials alongside beautiful design finished in Black Sky, Blue Mist, Gold Sand and Peach Cloud colour schemes.
Samsung Galaxy A5 2017
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is now thinner than ever as just 71.4mm thick, with thanks to its slightly curved build. It’s also water-resistant now – certified as IP68 – meaning it can safely be submerged in 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
The A5 (2017) has a 5.2-inch Full HD display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. There’s also Samsung’s Super AMOLED screen technology, to make sure everything you do on the phone looks amazing.
On the back of the phone is 16MP sensor, jam-packed with great features to take your photography game to the next level. But it’s not just your still photography that will benefit, as you can also shoot 1080p video at 30fps.
There’s a secondary 16MP camera on the front of the A5 (2017) too – a huge spec for a mid-range smartphone. All your selfies will look great, as will your video calls recorded in Full HD resolution.
Move between apps without any annoying buffering screens with the super-powered 1.9GHz octa-core processor. Lots of processing power essentially means you can do more at once – stream movies in Full HD and enjoy the biggest games with no lag time.
The 3,000mAh battery isn’t just able to store over a day’s worth of charge, but it can be powered up quicker than ever with the new USB technology. Gone is the micro USB input, making room for the reversible Type-C port, for fast charging and swift data transfer.
Samsung Galaxy A3 2017
The new design of the Samsung Galaxy A3 strongly mirrors current flagship, the Galaxy S7. The only differences being it’s new Type-C charging port, the side-mounted speaker grill and its slightly smaller camera lens.
Enjoy high definition photos, films and games with the Galaxy A3’s 4.7-inch display. The Gorilla Glass-protected screen features Samsung’s trademark Super AMOLED technology too, to make sure everything stands out.
The A3 (2017)’s 13MP camera is packed with great features to make sure your photos look great. And it can be launched with a quick double tap of the home button, to capture all those fleeting moments.
On the front of the smartphone is a powerful 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. Simply swipe up on the camera screen and the phone will switch the cameras for quicker shots.
A powerful 1.6GHz octa-core processor is built into the A3 (2017) to make sure you’re not slowed down by even the most demanding games and movies. If that’s not enough, the processor is backed up by 2GB RAM.
Despite the A3’s small size, it doesn’t compromise on battery capacity. There’s a 2,350mAh cell on board, and with the new Type-C USB technology, you’ll be able to charge up quicker than ever.
