Recent reports have revealed Samsung’s rumoured plans of launching a round smartwatch ala-Motorola Moto 360. Android Wear will not be on board this new wearable, which suggests it will run Samsung’s Tizen. According to a new report, the South Korean tech giant’s rumoured round smartwatch will support wireless charging.
The new report comes from SamMobile, an accurate source of information on yet to be announced devices made by Samsung. According to the site’s source, Samsung’s round smartwatch is code named “Orbis,” and will support wireless charging. If this information holds water, we believe wearable buyers will be highly interested in the device, since charging it will not involve pesky wires. Current smartwatches usually require attaching to a charging cradles.
So when do we get to see Samsung’s round smartwatch? According to reports, Samsung will lift the lid on this new wearable at MWC 2015, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain in early March.
