According to a research firm, the South Korean tech giant is on its way to selling a record breaking 50 million combined units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge by the end of 2015.
The research firm in question is Counterpoint Research via Reuters. Counterpoint said that sales of Samsung’s new flagships reached 6 million units at the end of April, which is less than month after the smartphones were launched globally. It adds that the combines sales of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge from the 10th of April to the 30th of April were better than the sales of the Galaxy S5 in the same period last year. This suggests the the sales of the S6 and S6 Edge are off to a good start.
Counterpoint expects Samsung to sell 50 million units of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge combined by the end of 2015. If this prediction comes true, the two would break the first-year sales record set by the Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung sold 45 million units of the S4 in 2013.
